The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon continued trai- ning in Yaounde yester- day ahead of the fifth playing day  of  the  2018  World  Cup qualifier against the Fennecs of Algeria on Saturday October 7, 2017 at the Yaounde Om- nisports Stadium. The players are presently in their hideout in  Yaounde  where  they  are putting  up  strategies  to  win come Saturday.

The team trains at the Yaounde Military  Stadium  twice  every day. Training began on Tuesday October  3,  2017  with  22  of the 23 players called to camp present.  Yaya  Banana  who plays for Panionios in Greece was  absent  on  the  first  two training sessions due to  club assignment  but  joined  the others in camp yesterday Sep- tember  4,  2017.  The  atmos- phere in the team is convivial as the players and officials go about their duties. Even though Cameroon  is  out  of  the  race Coach  Hugo  Broos  and  his players are working tirelessly in order to save face. Fans in Yaounde and its environs were at  the  Military  stadium  yes- terday to cheer the Lions.

What caught the attention of fans is the return of Marseille striker,  Clinton  Njie  who  was absent  in  the  fourth  playing day encounter against Nigeria due to an injury, Porto striker, Vincent Aboubakar, and Union Douala player, Frantz Pangop. Frantz  Pangop  is  replacing Maxime  Choupo-Moting  who is  nursing  an  injury  and  the absence of Angers striker, Carl Toko  Ekambi.  Earlier,  the  Algerian  coach,  Lucas  Alcaraza had  published  the  list  of  23 players for the encounter. Some famous players like Riyad Mah- rez, Islam  Slimani, Nabil Ben- taleb will be absent. However some new players like 21 year- old  winger,  Mohamed  Farès, who plays for l’Hellas Vérone and several others will have a chance  to  test  their  skills  in their first World Cup qualifier.
